1. Laid off → to → job offer… in 2 days 🤯
Don't mean to boast about my self here - but I had the offer the same day I was laid off.
Here's how:
I was consistently educating myself about the latest tech
I was practicing Leetcode problems daily - even when I was not interviewing
I had recently given 3 interviews - just to see my market value... out of which I also had gotten offer from 2 of them.
So, the day I was laid off all I did was contact all 3 of them - and one of them gave me a job offer - no questions asked!

Interview prep? Be prepared with problem solving skills, algorithms and common libraries
Research the company and be prepared to answer how would you add value to their team

3. Salary negotiation is the cheat code to early retirement
Here are some quick tips if you are planning to negotiate salary:
Work towards a win-win situation
Provide value before you ask salary hike
6 months before reviews do something that truly wows your manager. And then highlight it when negotiating.
Numbers and statistics are important - don't just say "I do a lot for this company" - prove it with data.
Take the final decision positively - learn from the discussions. Prepare yourself better for the next time.
4. Don't wait for your manager to initiate a conversation
The biggest sin 9-5 employees do? They wait for things to happen…
It doesn’t work that way in the corporate world.
If you want to quickly climb the ladder follow the steps in “put it action…” section below.
Put it in action…
For the next 2-4 months - find a niche or problem area in your project
And go all in on it
Deep dive into it to understand ins and outs of it
Remember - that problem area should be high impact in terms of time or cost to company
Then propose your manager about solving that problem
Provide them all the details
Write up a design doc
Provide time estimates and resource estimates
If you can lead a team of 2-4 people that would be the best!
While you are working on the project
Note down all the problems you ran into and how you overcame them
Results of your solution - how it positively it impacted your company
Once the project is complete initiate a 1:1 with your manager
This is your time - you’ve already proved yourself
Now it’s time to ask
So, initiate a conversation about salary raise or promotion
Approach negotiations confidently and with the assurance that you've earned the raise.
