Study system design, algorithms, data structures.
It comes in handy in your current job, and also keeps you prepared for the unfortunate events.
2. Diversifying income…
80% lay off rate is extreme. But, some of the small to mid scale companies are hit very badly by this economy.
To future proof yourself from the consequences of lay offs - I'd urge you to start looking into making some side income.
It is NOT difficult to start as you might think!

Call out? Don't always go after shiny things like job at Amazon and Meta.
Instead, find stable companies with great work life balance. You'd be more happy there.

Sell stuff
Start selling things you don't need in your house
Then start flipping things - buy low, sell high
Love art and craft? Create a store on Etsy and sell stuff
Teach stuff
Start teaching something you love to kids in your community
Make a course out of it - host it on udemy or skillshare or gumroad
Fiverr/freelancing gigs
Wordpress websites
Mobile apps
Set up shopify or etsy stores
